Summary

Most of the headlines of the newspapers today are about the comment of PM on government’s policy on openness and listen to the views of the people. PM said, “Nothing to hide”. Below are some of the points,

1) Anyone have query should go to the proper channel.
2) Some people are taking advantage of government’s openness.
3) All the policy created is for the good of all the people.
4) People including media should not play up with those sensitive issues.

I have some query about these,

1) What is the proper channel to raise our concern? Will the complaint being addressed?
2) What is the definition of the openness? If prevent some people to raise the issues and at the same time allow other party to raise issues is call openness, then our government are certified Openness.
3) So far, how many government projects is being successfully tendered by non-bumi? Why are the issues of ran-away contractor not yet resolved? Why do we need to set up Alibaba Company?
4) If government is transparent enough in execution, I don’t think the people would like to query so much.

Most of the time, we bring the issues to the media to get it resolve quickly, rather than go through the proper channel. We have no choice to help ourselves when we can’t get help from the correct party.

Well said. I really doubt who should keep his mouth shut? Who has commented that report as "rubbish"? I think this series of news published on mainstream newpapers can tell us who should be warned.

Mee Ling,

Euwen,

Kean-Jin Lim,
well, thanks for your info. I will check it out tonite.

Another thing that I worry about is most of the new chinese generation do not aware of this problem and just focus on fun like telephone, clubbing, love, etc...

I agree that. Who play the important roles at this? Parents and Government. Eerrr...why government?

The threat from the Acts we have. For example, ISA. My parents used to warn me do not say something bad against government Malaysia because they can put me in the jail anytimes. In my family, they have this kind of thinking mind, critic or saying something bad aganist government Malaysia = jail.

So, everyone will not teach their kids care about the politic or social issues in Malaysia. They teach their kids care about how much you can earn in a month, what kind of house you should have etc... but they really forgot everything start from politic. For example, when a housing area was proposed the process it will start from the local council. Here, the politic start worse corruption begin too.

Sounds like already "hijack" yours blog. Sorry about that.

Teng-Yong,

Kean-Jin Lim,
hahah, you are welcome to 'hijack' if you want...

well, when I was young, I use to pay a deaf ear on this kind of issues. But, the situation getting critical when you are at work. You can see all the unfairs things daily. Just wonder, will Malaysia become worse than Indonesia?

http://www.epochtimes.com/gb/3/11/2/n404356.htm

Frankie said...

I say use your VOTE.

I met a lot of Malaysian before. When I talk this, they don't believe their vote can change the situation. I doubt are they really understand what Democracy is? No offence here, they really need to do some homework regarding this word Democracy.

Are we really practice well democracy in our nation? I say no. We still practice those system during in the old time, the empire time plus a bit of democracy.

When something happen, Malaysian always say HOPE, HOPE, HOPE the Government will what, what, and what. or We beg, please...... In Democracy system, RAKYAT is the boss, government should listen to RAKYAT not RAKYAT has to BEG, PLEASE and HOPE to the Government.

We pay taxes to government. All the money spend by government is tax payers money. We have the right how they use it, how the money spend. It is sad. In Malaysia, democracy does not practice well. Instead, Malaysia has many uncivilized acts to keep people shut up.

I have my eyes open here. People here really understand well what democracy is and they practice it well.
